SHARING HOME PRESENTED BY NÏM

SUNDAY 14 MAY at 4PM
Sharing HOME is a constructed and diverse environment: three artistic disciplines coexisting, behaving as living identities and creating a unique ecosystem through each performance. After the creation process in Cuba and Austria, on May 14th Sharing HOME will build a temporal home at CAB, opening a space for a fictional, autonomous and temporary community, and to reflect on how polyrhythms and polymeters can create a sense of togetherness.

FASHION PERFORMANCE
The duo Erhart-Le Thanh will present their collection called « ARTONOV 2016 » at the Museum van Buuren which will culminate in performance art instead of a fashion show. This fashion performance, held at CAB, aims to display all disciplines such as photography, music, voice, makeup and of course fashion clothing. Such a combination of disciplines captures the fundamental spirit of the festival.
The staging addresses issues such as transformation or metamorphosis, psychoanalysis of dreams and nightmares, the transition from life to death…All of these elements are integrated discreetly in the collection and will be explored by the protagonists during the performance.

PAGINE: SCARBO + DANCE

PAGINE is the collaboration between the Scarbo saxophone quartet and Yuika Hashimoto, a talented dancer with the company Rosas. PAGINE refers to the collection of transcriptions using the same name, developed by the Italian composer Salvatore Sciarrino who managed to combine diverse styles in a bright musical arrangement.

WE NEED YOU

FRIDAY 1ST APRIL FROM 12 AM TILL 6 PM
MONDAY 4TH APRIL FROM 10 AM TILL 6PM
The CAB invites you to bring items that you don’t use anymore (max 150 x 50 cm, 10 Kg). It can be clothes, small furniture, old toys, sport items, etc..

In the context of the exhibition TRANSHUMANCE, Beyond Cuban horizons the Cuban artist José Yaque invites the Brussels’s community to be part of the construction of his “Interior con Huracán” (2016). Like a storm, this artwork involves existing surrounding objects on its movement.
The theme of the exhibition being in relation with the notion of habitat, he would like to compose his artwork with domestic personal objects still cherished or not by their owners. These objects will bring their own lives and stories into the artwork. In an approach close to Relational Aesthetics Yaque believes on the idea of a collective experience, on which he is not the only storyteller, but where the audience could add their story by offering their own objects and completing therefore the artwork.

OPENING of the exhibition 18th April FROM 6 TILL 9 PM

Exhibition from 19 April to 25 June

DERIVE
Design and performance: MARINE FALQUE VERT (musician), MAUD GOURDON (illustrator), Maëlle REYMOND (dance)”This is not music or drawing or dancing, but the time, the movement and images appear and meet.”
The bottle, umbrella, chair and shoes, alarm clock are back.
But perhaps this is a memory.
The bottle in the shoes, the umbrella, the chair and the clock radio.
This time, the umbrella is in the shoes, the bottle on the overturned chair and clock radio.
I more easily remember the items that I have lost than the ones that I owned.
But only here can be a memory.
No matter. Everything fades.
Again, summon the chair, shoes, bottle and clock radio, without reason, by accumulation, digression, through habit.
This time, and then once more, I think, and then it will beover. I think.

SCHIZOPHRENIA
Dance: VICTORIA BRYZGALOVA (UK) & Yuika HASHIMOTO (JP)Music: Yann Robin, Schizophrenia (2006), performed by CEDRIC de Bruycker (clarinet) and PIETER PELLENS (saxophone)
RAM by QUENTIN MEURISSE (musician) and CHARLES NGOMBENGOMBE (dancer) in an examination of information technology in connection with gesture.
